Mum’s Scones


  • 12 oz Flour
  • I Pack Swiss Raising Agent (for 500gm)
  • One heaped tablespoon sugar (optional)
  • 3 oz Butter
  • 9 Tablespoons Milk


  • Turn the Oven on to 220°
  • Mix the flour, sugar and raising agent
  • Rub in the butter
  • Add the Milk and stir in with the spoon
  • Mix and need enough to make it bind properly
  • Roll out fairly thick and cut into whatever shape you like
  • Cook for 10 to 12 minutes
